Founded in 2008, MicroDerm is a boutique provider of specialised dermatopathology training. With a focus on high-quality education and practical insight, Microderm supports clinicians and trainees in developing strong diagnostic skills in skin pathology.
Our workshops are led by our Chief Instructor, Dr. Alexander Nirenberg, who is dedicated to delivering premium, up-to-date dermatopathology education. Each session blends expert instruction with real-world case discussion, ensuring participants gain clarity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of diagnostic dermatopathology.
Dr. Nirenberg is a qualified and experienced dermatopathologist holding a post-fellowship Diploma in Dermatopathology. He graduated from the University of Melbourne with a medical degree and maintains Fellowships with both the Royal College of Pathologists (UK) and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. With extensive experience across public and private sectors, he is actively engaged in teaching medical students and physicians. Currently, he serves as Director of the Australasian Dermatopathology Society and Board Member of the Australasian College of Cutaneous Oncology, while having previously served on the panel for the Avant Medical Experts Committee.
